Dayton to Reduce Carbon Footprint by Half

The City of Dayton will reduce its carbon footprint by half with one innovative initiative. The Department of Water and the Office of Sustainability partnered to create a 20-year agreement that will sell biogas produced at Dayton's water reclamation facility to a private firm for production of renewable natural gas. The Department of Water will net $16 million in revenue over the life of the agreement. The program is the first of its kind in the Midwest and one of few in the U.S. Get more information here.
