Construction has started on planned upgrades at Kettering Field, located at 444 N. Bend Blvd., according to the City of Dayton Department of Recreation. The improvements will include new or renovated athletic fields, installation of synthetic turf surfaces, and the addition of pickleball and tennis courts. Lighting, seating, and parking areas will also be improved.
During construction, some sections of Kettering Field will be closed to ensure public safety. Visitors are asked to stay away from fenced-off zones, cone-marked spaces, and any visibly active construction areas.
The project is expected to continue for about a year, with completion anticipated in August 2026. Updates on progress will be provided as work moves forward.
"The City of Dayton appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as we work to enhance Kettering Field for future recreation use," stated the Department of Recreation.
