Dayton Police to hold public meetings on new surveillance and response technologies

The Dayton Police Department is considering the use of new technology tools, including more Automated License Plate Readers, a renewed Gunshot Detection Technology system, and a Drones as First Responder program.

To inform residents and gather feedback on these proposals, the department will hold several community meetings. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dayton Metro Library Burkhardt Branch, located at 4704 Burkhardt Ave. Additional meetings will take place on Monday, September 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Dayton Metro Library Northwest Branch (2410 Philadelphia Dr.), and Wednesday, September 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the Planning Resource Center (mezzanine) at City Hall, 101 W. Third St.
