House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford (AR-01) has issued a statement following Director of National Intelligence Gabbard's announcement of the ODNI 2.0 reform initiative. The new plan is aimed at refocusing the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) on its core national security responsibilities and restoring public trust in the intelligence community.

“I commend Director Gabbard for taking bold, unprecedented action to get at the redundancies, inefficiencies, politicization, and weaponization of the Intelligence Community. Anyone involved in the IC and intelligence oversight has known for over a decade that the ODNI has been in desperate need of reform to return the agency to its critical national security mission. This is an excellent first step in the right direction," Crawford said.

He added, “This Committee will never shy away from pushing for increased transparency with the American people and demanding accountability for bad actors. These efforts are required to rebuild the integrity of the IC and trust with the American people."

Crawford also stated, “We look forward to continuing to work with Director Gabbard as she acts to right-size ODNI and maximize its impact for the American people. Correcting the direction of a large institution, grounded in its ways, will never be easy and will take time. It’s bound to be laden with obstructions and those looking to undermine change. But change is in order. President Trump and Director Gabbard are leading the charge by not just calling out the problems but taking action to address them.”
