U.S. Representative Mike Turner, who represents Ohio’s 10th district in Congress, recently shared his observations and experiences from a visit to Kyiv, Ukraine through a series of posts on social media.
On September 23, 2025, Turner wrote about his meeting with Ukrainian officials in the capital city: "Upon meeting with officials in Kyiv I am deeply moved by the strength and resolve of the Ukrainian people. Despite the relentless aggression from Russian forces, their courage and determination to defend their sovereignty and freedom is truly inspiring."
The following day, after meeting with Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, Head of Ukraine’s Air Force, Turner posted: "Having just been in Kyiv and meeting with Lieutenant General Anatolii Kryvonozhko, Head of Ukraine’s Air Force @KpsZSU, I absolutely agree with President Trump’s assessment."
Later on September 24, Turner commented further on Ukraine's defensive efforts: "I received briefings from senior officials in Kyiv on Ukraine's air defense systems, and I am truly impressed by their ingenuity. The Ukrainian people have shown remarkable innovation in developing and adapting their defenses against Russia’s drone attacks. Their innovative"
Turner has represented Ohio's 10th District since 2003 after succeeding Tony P. Hall. He was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1960 and continues to reside there at age 63. His educational background includes a BA from Ohio Northern University (1982), a JD from Case Western Reserve University (1985), and further studies at the University of Dayton (1992).
The congressman's recent statements come amid ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has drawn international attention to both military strategies and humanitarian issues.
