Congressman Turner and Mayor Collins Announce $1 Million Grant to Rename Mound Connector After Former Mayor Dick Church

On August 24, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Michelle Collins, Mayor of Miamisburg, held a press conference at the Mound Science and Energy Museum to announce the renaming of portions of the Mound Connector after former Miamisburg Mayor Richard C. Church Jr. In Fiscal Year 2023, Congressman Turner secured $1 million in federal funding for the Mound Connector Highway Project.

Turner Announces Over $200,000 in Federal Funding For Local Firefighters

On August 15, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) announced that over $200,000 in federal funds have been awarded to local firefighters in the Southwest Ohio area. Green Township and the City of Trotwood, both in Turner's district, were allocated funds under the Department of Homeland Security's FY22 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG). Recipients are eligible to direct these funds toward operations and safety, vehicle acquisition, and regional projects.

The U.S. House Appropriations Committee has approved a request by Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) to provide $4 million in federal funding to renovate the historic Wright Company Factory in Dayton in the wake of the March 2023 fire, Turner said at a press release and Aug. 1 joint press conference with Dayton Mayor Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr. and Mackensie Wittmer, Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Area.

Turner Secures $1.25 Million in Federal Funds for Cassano Health Center, Tours Renovated Facility

Cassano Health Center and met with physicians and staff to discuss the center's facility upgrade, for which he secured $1.25 million in direct federal funding. Following the tour, Congressman Turner held a press conference at the renovated facility with Brenda Kuhn, Interim President of Kettering Health Dayton.

Congressman Turner and Mayor Mims Outline Efforts to Rehabilitate Wright Company Factory After Devastating Fire

On August 1, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr., Mayor of Dayton, and Mackensie Wittmer, Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Area, held a press conference at the Wright Company Factory to discuss their collective efforts to rehabilitate the site following the March 2023 fire. Congressman Turner announced that the first version of the appropriations package for Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development included his request for $4 million to rebuild the buildings that were damaged from the fire.
