House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford has issued a statement following the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Aaron Lukas as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. Crawford extended his congratulations to Lukas, emphasizing his extensive experience and operational background as assets to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) leadership team.
Crawford noted that Director of National Intelligence Gabbard is committed to enhancing transparency and accountability within the Intelligence Community. He expressed confidence in Lukas's alignment with these goals, stating, "To do so, the DNI must trust she has those in her leadership team who share that commitment. I do not doubt that Aaron does."
Highlighting Arkansas's contribution to leadership within the Intelligence Community, Crawford added, "What our Intelligence Community needs today is more leadership from Arkansas." He looks forward to collaborating with Lukas in his new role to rebuild trust between the Intelligence Community and the American public.
