Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence convened a Member Day in Washington, D.C. to gather policy recommendations from fellow House Representatives concerning the Committee's jurisdiction.

Chairman Crawford expressed his gratitude for hosting the event and emphasized the importance of transparency. “It was an honor to host HPSCI’s Member Day and have a chance to hear perspectives from our colleagues on both sides of the aisle on topics ranging from biosecurity and the Iran threat to the implementation of FISA Section 702,” he stated. He further highlighted his commitment to listening to policy recommendations across their Conference while overseeing the Intelligence Community.

Ranking Member Himes also acknowledged the significance of Member Day as a platform for receiving insights from lawmakers. “Member Day provides an important opportunity for the Intelligence Committee to receive thoughts and recommendations from lawmakers throughout the House,” he remarked. He appreciated his colleagues' participation and expressed optimism about ongoing bipartisan efforts to support intelligence community missions while safeguarding American civil liberties.
