House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford has expressed his views following President Trump's announcement of successful U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. The military action targeted three locations in Iran, aiming to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.
Crawford emphasized the significance of maintaining a "red line" regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions, a stance supported by both Republican and Democratic presidents over the years. He stated, "As I have said multiple times recently, I regret that Iran has brought the world to this point. That said, I am thankful President Trump understood that the red line—articulated by Presidents of both parties for decades—was real."
The Chairman confirmed ongoing communication with the White House concerning these developments and expressed gratitude towards U.S. servicemembers involved in the operation. "I commend President Trump for taking decisive action and I am grateful to the U.S. servicemembers who carried out these precise and successful strikes," he added.
Crawford also highlighted his concern for those engaged in safeguarding global security, stating, "I continue to pray for the safety of the forces engaged to protect the free world."
