Turner thanks Carla Hayden for service as Librarian of Congress

Congressman Mike Turner of Ohio has expressed his gratitude to Dr. Carla Hayden for her service as the Librarian of Congress. In a statement, he acknowledged her contributions and highlighted her focus on expanding access to knowledge and preserving the nation's history.

Turner noted, “I thank Dr. Carla Hayden for her distinguished service as the Librarian of Congress and her friendship. Throughout her tenure, Dr. Hayden has championed access to knowledge, preservation of our nation's history, and the power of literacy to unite and uplift communities."

Reflecting on a significant moment during Dr. Hayden's tenure, Turner mentioned her visit to Dayton in 2023 with her mother, Colleen. During this visit, she spoke at the Dayton Literary Peace Prize event. Turner described this occasion as meaningful for the community and aligned with values such as dialogue, understanding, and peace celebrated by the Prize.

He concluded by expressing appreciation for Dr. Hayden's leadership: "I am grateful for her leadership.”
