House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford has released a statement following the confirmation of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as the next United States Ambassador to Israel by the Senate.
Crawford remarked, "Today is a momentous day for the long-standing relationship between the U.S. and Israel. There is no stronger advocate and friend of Israel than Governor Huckabee. For decades, he has been a staunch defender of Israel’s right to exist and protect its people. I could not think of a more qualified leader to serve in this critical role."
Reflecting on Huckabee's time in office, Crawford noted, "As the 44th Governor of Arkansas, Governor Huckabee led our state to great heights and cultivated a sense of leadership that has continued to flourish long after his final day in office."
Crawford concluded with a confident outlook on Huckabee's new role, stating, "At a time when one of our greatest allies needs our support more than ever, there is no doubt Governor Huckabee will masterfully navigate our two nations through these tense times. I offer Governor Huckabee my most sincere congratulations."
