Chairman Rick Crawford of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has commented on the creation of a new task force by Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard. This initiative aims to address issues of transparency and accountability within the Intelligence Community.

Crawford noted, "Actions speak louder than words. And since being sworn in, DNI Gabbard has shown her commitment to addressing the degradation of transparency within the Intelligence Community, as well as, instilling a culture of accountability." He emphasized that such efforts are necessary to rebuild trust in the Intelligence Community and ensure personnel fulfill their oaths.

The new Director's Initiative Group (DIG) is tasked with reviewing the processes within the National Intelligence Council, specifically those related to the development of intelligence assessments. Crawford urged DNI Gabbard to ensure the assessments acknowledge and address dissenting views. He stressed that for elected officials to fulfill their constitutional oversight tasks, the assessments they receive should adhere to analytic rigor, be unbiased, and not follow pre-set narratives.

DNI Gabbard's actions reflect her commitment to improving transparency and reinforcing accountability in order to restore public confidence in the Intelligence Community.
