House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Rick Crawford (AR-01) and Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations Chair Ronny Jackson (TX-13) have expressed their views following a closed committee roundtable. The session included two survivors of the Intelligence Community's mishandling of Anomalous Health Incidents (AHI).
Chairman Crawford emphasized the importance of addressing reports of AHI affecting intelligence, military, and diplomatic personnel. "Since joining the Committee eight years ago, it has been a top priority of mine to get to the bottom of reported Anomalous Health Incidents," said Crawford. He expressed frustration over obstacles to investigative efforts.
Crawford and Jackson plan to investigate AHI events and examine the Intelligence Community’s actions during the previous administration. "We will be directly engaged in requesting the cooperation of the new IC leadership with the Committee’s investigation," Crawford stated.
Chairman Jackson criticized the handling of AHIs, stating, "The handling of Anomalous Health Incidents has been deeply flawed, failing the brave men and women who have served our country across the globe." He is committed to holding responsible parties accountable and ensuring the truth is uncovered about foreign involvement.
In background notes, Chairman Crawford released an unclassified interim report on the AHI investigation in late 2024. He discussed the ongoing investigation in December 2024 on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom and wrote an op-ed in the Washington Examiner about concerns over misleading information from the Intelligence Community.
