House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford has expressed his support for President Trump's initiatives aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine. In a statement, Crawford emphasized the importance of peace in Ukraine for both the Ukrainian people and the broader European region.
"Peace in Ukraine is in the best interests of the Ukrainian people and everyone in Europe. I fully support the collective efforts to secure a peace deal so that the Ukrainian people can live in safety and security," said Crawford.
He also highlighted the President's authority under the Constitution to decide on intelligence sharing as part of these peace efforts. "The President has the prerogative under his Constitutional authority to determine who we share intelligence with and for what reasons, including as part of efforts to achieve peace," he stated.
Crawford acknowledged that this process would involve difficult decisions and expressed eagerness to receive updates from the administration regarding negotiation progress. "I anticipate this process will require challenging decisions, and I look forward to hearing more from the administration on the progress of negotiations," he concluded.
