House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner has issued a statement concerning the recent agreement between Israel and Hamas to release hostages held in Gaza. The deal is seen as a significant development, offering hope for the reunion of hostages with their families after enduring 15 months of captivity.

Turner acknowledged the role of President-elect Trump in facilitating this agreement, attributing it to his foreign policy approach of "peace through strength." He emphasized that while this is an important step forward, efforts must persist until all hostages are safely returned.

Turner also highlighted the necessity for continued U.S. support for Israel in its defense against terrorism, aiming to prevent future attacks similar to those experienced on October 7th.
