Turner comments on new House Republican leadership elections

Today, Congressman Mike Turner from Ohio's 10th District released a statement following the election of House Republican leadership. The newly elected leaders are Speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana's 4th District, Majority Leader Steve Scalise from Louisiana's 1st District, Majority Whip Tom Emmer from Minnesota's 6th District, and Republican Conference Chairwoman-elect Lisa McClain from Michigan's 9th District.

Turner extended his congratulations to the new leaders: “Congratulations to Speaker Johnson, Majority Leader Scalise, Majority Whip Emmer, and Chairwoman-elect McClain on their election to House Republican leadership.”

He emphasized unity among his colleagues in addressing key issues facing the nation. "My colleagues and I are united in delivering for the American people through securing our southern border, combating inflation, creating good-paying jobs, and restoring U.S. energy independence," he stated.

Looking ahead to the 119th Congress, Turner expressed optimism about collaborating with the leadership team. He remarked, “I look forward to working with our leadership team in the 119th Congress to protect our nation’s interests and build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous America.”
