WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), head of the U.S. delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, expressed gratitude towards Hungary for approving Sweden's membership to NATO. Turner highlighted the historical partnership between Sweden and the United States, stating, "For over 240 years, Sweden has been a vital partner of the United States in myriad international agreements."

Acknowledging Sweden's commitment to defense, Turner emphasized the value that Sweden, as an allied NATO partner, will bring to the Alliance. He noted, "Soon, as an allied NATO partner who already commits two percent of their GDP to defense, Sweden will bring its advanced military capabilities and infrastructure to the Alliance in support of global security and peace."
