Dayton Metro Library is hosting an author program titled Love, Leadership and Legacy of Harriet Tubman, in the Main Library’s Eichelberger Forum, on Saturday, January 14, from 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Karol V. Brown, author of The Harriet Tubman Way, An Inspirational Guide to Self-Love, Empowerment, and Legendary Leadership for Girls, will discuss how young girls can be empowered by the life and actions of Harriet Tubman, who helped lead many enslaved Africans to freedom. This program includes a movie screening and is ideal for families, tweens, and teens.

Those looking for a way to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. can visit the West Branch for their West Has A Dream program, also on Saturday, January 14. During Branch hours, patrons can be inspired by King’s legacy by discussing and writing about their dreams for the future. This activity is ideal for kids of all ages, parents, and educators.
