Today marks the one-year anniversary of the attack on Israel by Hamas, an event that is remembered for its severe impact. On this occasion, Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released a statement reflecting on the events and ongoing concerns.
Turner described the attack as "one of the most horrific attacks in history" and highlighted how it affected innocent lives in Israel. He commended the resilience of the Israeli people despite facing significant challenges. Turner emphasized that "the United States must continue to support Israel’s right to defend itself and demand the release of all hostages in Gaza, including the seven Americans still being held in captivity."
He also pointed out ongoing threats from groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, mentioning Iran's recent missile attack on Israel as evidence of these dangers. Turner stated that "the Iranian regime cannot be allowed to succeed" and urged for accountability from "the Biden-Harris Administration" regarding Iran's actions.
