WASHINGTON, D.C.– Today, Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) and Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (ME-01) announced the formation of the bipartisan Congressional Arts Caucus.

“The arts are of great importance to the culture and heritage of the Miami Valley, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to join Congresswoman Pingree in leading the Arts Caucus,” said Congressman Mike Turner. “Downtown Dayton is home to a wide array of facilities that allow individuals to enjoy all the artistic talent that our region has to offer. The fine arts play a central role in our community, and I look forward to continuing my advocacy for the Miami Valley’s artists and its rich creative history.”

“The arts play a crucial role in driving economic development, creating quality jobs, building a well-rounded education, and fostering a sense of community,” said Congresswoman Chellie Pingree. “As the Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees funding for the National Endowments for the Arts and for the Humanities, I am proud to advocate for federal investments that support vital cultural initiatives in Maine and across the country. With the relaunch of the bipartisan Congressional Arts Caucus, we are renewing our commitment to bringing our colleagues together to champion federal support for the arts and uplift our creative communities. I am excited to continue serving as Co-Chair of the caucus and look forward to the important work ahead.”

The Congressional Arts Caucus is a bipartisan organization for Members of Congress who support the arts through federal initiatives. For over 40 years, it has organized Members of the House of Representatives in support of federal arts initiatives.
