In 2022, the City of Dayton received a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Planning Grant to create a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. The plan aims to modernize and improve local streets for various users, including drivers, passengers, commercial users, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The SS4A federal program was established by the "Bipartisan Infrastructure Law" of 2021. It supports systematic approaches to prevent deaths and serious injuries on national roadways.

Dayton emphasizes that public input is crucial for the success of its Road Safety Action Plan.
