Mayor Jeffrey J. Mims, Jr., and the Dayton City Commission announce the appointment of Lamonte Hall, Jr., as executive director of the Dayton Human Relations Council. In his new role, Hall will assume responsibility for overseeing the various programs and staff of the Human Relations Council, a City of Dayton office responsible for investigating civil rights issues and providing technical assistance to small and minority-owned enterprises, with a budget of approximately $1.1 million.

“Lamonte’s leadership experience and commitment to Dayton make him ideal to be the next leader of the Human Relations Council,” said Mayor Mims. “There is much work to be done to continue improving equity, inclusion, and access to opportunity in our community. I am confident Lamonte has what it takes to meet these goals and elevate this vital work.”

Hall is a 13-year City of Dayton employee, working in various supervisory and management roles throughout the organization. Prior to this appointment, Hall worked as the assistant to the city manager. In that role, Hall was responsible for spearheading a host of projects. Most notable is his work as project manager for the Dayton Recovery Plan’s $7 million allocation for Black and Brown businesses. Other projects include the West Branch Express and the City’s internal efforts to develop a strategic plan for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
