Montgomery County Offering Vendor Outreach To Provide Information to Diverse Businesses

Handshake03

Montgomery County is reaching out to all diverse vendors including minority-owned, veteran owned and woman-owned businesses to educate them on the process of doing business with the County. The Diverse Vendor Outreach event will be held Thursday, May 5, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Business Solutions Center, 1435 Cincinnati Street in Dayton.

Roughly 27 percent of Montgomery County’s 535,000 people are Black, Hispanic, Latino or Asian. In 2020, however, only a little over 1.5 percent or the vendors Montgomery County worked with were minority-owned business.

“We want to be sure everyone has the knowledge to be able to do business with the County because it is the right thing to do,” said Kyle Kolopanis, Director of Purchasing for Montgomery County. “Our plan is to hold events similar to this twice a year.”

The event will begin with a brief presentation covering how to become a county vendor, bidding process, and how to work with the county. There will also be an overview of county leadership, along with a look at current projects and bid opportunities. There will be time for networking with Montgomery County staff following the presentation.

There is no need to register for this event. Call (937) 225-4699 if you have questions.
