The City of Dayton is seeking nominations for the annual Joseph T. Cline Awards, which recognize employees who demonstrate excellence and dedication in their work as well as involvement in civic and community activities. Recipients of the award are honored by the City Commission and receive a cash prize funded by an endowment established by the Cline family.

Joseph T. Cline, after whom the awards are named, was an optometrist and civic leader in Dayton during the early 20th century. The awards fund was set up in 1984 at The Dayton Foundation by Carolynne H. Cline.

Eligibility for nomination requires that candidates be current full-time or permanent part-time employees with at least two years of service to the City of Dayton. Both citizens and city employees may submit nominations. A selection panel made up of representatives from The Dayton Foundation, the City of Dayton, a community volunteer, and previous award recipients will choose up to ten winners.

Nominations for this year’s awards must be submitted before Friday, October 31 at 5 p.m.
