Today, Congressman Mike Turner expressed his condolences following the death of Congressman Gerry Connolly. Turner highlighted Connolly's dedication to public service over three decades and his significant contributions to both Virginia and the nation.

Turner remarked on their shared experiences in the U.S. delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, where Connolly served as President. "His leadership as President of NATO-PA was marked by clarity and conviction, especially in the face of Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine," Turner stated.

Connolly was also recognized for advocating a Centre for Democratic Resilience at NATO headquarters, emphasizing democratic strength within the alliance. Turner's statement reflected on Connolly's enduring impact: “Gerry’s legacy is one of intellect, integrity, and relentless dedication to the people of Virginia’s 11th District and to our allies abroad."

Turner concluded by offering his thoughts and prayers to Connolly's family, staff, and colleagues. "My thoughts and prayers are with his family, staff, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him,” he said.
