Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (OH-10) released a statement regarding President-elect Donald Trump's decision to appoint House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (NY-21) as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
Turner expressed his support for Stefanik's appointment, stating, "Elise Stefanik is a phenomenal choice to represent the United States on the world stage. I have served with Elise on both the House Intelligence Committee and the House Armed Services Committee and have seen firsthand how she is an incredible leader on defense and national security issues with a deep understanding of U.S. foreign policy."
