6.1% of citizens unemployed in Montgomery County in 2021

Montgomery County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 16,261 people out of the 536,136 living in Montgomery County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Montgomery County has decreased compared to the 6.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Montgomery County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 251,991 people who had a job during that time, 2,110 were employed in the Armed Forces and 249,881 belonged to the civilian labor force.
