Wright Writers Panel Discussion (For Adults)
Main Library, Conference Room 1B, Saturday, November 5, 11 am - 1 pm
New writers and those looking for assistance getting started are invited to join a discussion about creative writing, time management, and staying motivated.
Murder & Mayhem in Dayton & the Miami Valley (For Adults)
Main Library, Conference Room 1A, Tuesday, November 8, 6:30 - 8 pm
Sara Kaushal will discuss her book, Murder and Mayhem in Dayton and The Miami Valley, which covers the rich but gruesome history of our area.
Little Chefs Cook the Books! (For Grades 1-4)
West Branch Library, Wednesday, November 2, 9, 16, and 23, 4 - 5 pm
View diverse picture books and sample a tasty treat found in each story.
Lincoln’s Northern Nemesis: The War Opposition and Exile of Ohio’s Clement Vallandigham (For Adults)
Vandalia Branch Library, Thursday, November 10, 7 - 8 pm
Martin Gottlieb will discuss his new book, which tells the story of a unique event in American history involving Abraham Lincoln, Vallanadigham, and the high stakes of preserving or dissolving the Union.
Taste Buds (For Adults)
Trotwood Branch Library, Monday, November 14, 1 - 2 pm
Every month there’s a new theme. Patrons can choose a recipe from a cookbook in the Library and bring it in to share. Registration required.
LGBTQIA+ Book Club (For Adults)
Main Library, Conference Room 3A, Monday, November 14, 7 - 8 pm (meets every second Monday of the month)This club is for adults who are interested in reading a range of diverse books with LGBTQIA+ characters and themes. November’s book is Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown.
What’s New Book Club (For Ages 8 - 14)
Wilmington-Stroop Branch, Thursday, November 17, 4 - 5:30 pm
Discuss new books, make sock puppets, and have a chance to appear on DML’s social media page.
Pop Culture, Fandom, and More - A Conversation with Mathew Klickstein (For Adults and Teens)
Kettering-Moraine Branch Library, Thursday, November 17, 7 - 8 pm
Mathew Klickstein is one of Dayton’s most recent residents. He is an award-winning author, filmmaker, comics creator, and more, with much of his career focusing on the newer realm of “pop culture history.” During this program, he’ll discuss his latest projects.
Interactive Holiday Book Read (For Adults)
Miamisburg Branch Library, Begins Monday, November 21, 10 - 11 am
Booklovers looking for a unique reading experience can register to check out The Christmas Wedding Guest by Susan Mallery. Then pick the book during the last two weeks of November, along with a bag with interactive items – and have fun!
