Dayton Metro Library will hold a seven-session program titled Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World, presented in the Spanish language. This program will be held for seven Saturdays in a row, beginning Saturday October 29, at the Main Library in Conference Room 3A, 3rd Floor, from 10:30 am-1 pm.
Getting Ahead curriculum will be used to provide Bridges Out of Poverty concepts for those who are experiencing poverty themselves. Trained facilitators will be on hand to help attendees (known as “researchers” during the program) develop their own plans for stability, including emphasizing the importance of learning for themselves. This co-investigative process will use self-assessment tools to build emotional, financial, and social resources while exploring the impact poverty can have on their lives.
Program dates: Saturday, October 29, November 5, November 12, November 19, December 3, December 10, and December 17. Registration is not required for this program. For more information, visit DaytonMetroLibrary.org/Programs or call the Library’s Ask Me Line at 937.463.2665.
