Mural Announced

Bright colors, floral blooms and a giant block Centerville will draw the eye to Centerville’s newest mural, which is being created now on the south-facing wall behind Marion’s Piazza on North Main Street.

Artist Jennifer Eickelberger’s piece 'Bold Centerville' was chosen out of 14 submissions. Eickelberger describes the design as a fun take on a vintage postcard made modern. She included native flowers like the columbine and bellflower.

A selection committee chooses the winning design; members represent the Board of Architectural Review, Centerville Arts Commission, Centerville City Council and the Centerville Community Improvement Corporation.

Eickelberger is currently the art director for Mae to Love in Hamilton, where she has volunteered for the past decade. The mother of three daughters has a degree in art from Morehead State University with an emphasis on graphic design and photography.

The Centerville Community Improvement Corporation administers the Centerpieces Mural Program.

Eickelberger hopes to complete installation on the mural in late October.
