Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Dayton

Tuition and fees rose 2.8 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Dayton, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Ohio students paid $42,900 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,150 more than the $41,750 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,167 students received grants or scholarships totaling $49.8 million and 1,276 students took out student loans totaling more than $15.4 million.

Including all undergraduates (11,241), 7,720 students used grants or scholarships totaling $173.4 million, and 4,118 students took out $39.6 million in federal student loans.
