The City of Centerville invites you to Uptown Centerville as it turns into a winter wonderland on Nov. 20 for the 2022 Hometown Holiday Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony.
A holiday-themed Vendor Village will take over the parking lot at the northwest corner of the intersection of Main and Franklin streets from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Kick off the Christmas shopping season with approximately 40 local vendors and food trucks. Small businesses in Uptown also will be open for shoppers.
Children will be able to visit with Santa Claus at the Town Hall Theatre and there will be activities for kids at the Kids’ Corner.
Horse-drawn carriage rides will take visitors on a tour of historic Uptown near the Asahel Wright Museum.
Centerville-Washington History also will have nearby museums open for free tours to learn about the history of the City of Centerville.
Benham’s Grove will once again host the annual tree lighting during a special ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Mayor Brooks Compton will host the ceremony featuring performances from the Centerville Community Band’s Brass Ensemble, the Centerville Community Chorus and the Miami Valley Dance Company.
Free hot chocolate and coffee from Boston Stoker and holiday cookies will be available at Benham’s Grove prior to the tree lighting ceremony. Plus, the first 140 kids at the tree lighting will be able to get a free Christmas-themed glow wand.
Parking and shuttles to the Uptown Vendor Village will be available at Activity Center Park, 221 N. Main Street.
The Hometown Holiday Walk is presented by the City of Centerville, Centerville-Washington History, the Centerville-Washington Park District, the Heart of Centerville, and the Washington Township Town Hall.
