WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10), head of the U.S. delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, delivered closing remarks today after hosting leaders of the parliaments of NATO allies for the NATO Parliamentary Summit. During his remarks, Chairman Turner announced that the 2025 Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly will be hosted by his hometown of Dayton, Ohio.

“Thank you all for the contributions that you have made to this dialogue. We’re going to continue that dialogue as we break for lunch. We’re going to the Library of Congress, where many of you have been before. We’re going to let the British delegation come with us even though they burned it once," Turner stated.

He continued by foreshadowing next year’s session: “In addition to thanking you for participating here, I want to foreshadow that next year’s Spring Session 2025 will be in Dayton, Ohio. Here, we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of NATO. At that event, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords, which brought peace to the area of the Balkans that had been devastated by unbelievable atrocities. And we certainly appreciate our Balkan partners who are part of this assembly now and those who aspire to be so."

Turner expressed optimism about upcoming events: “This, hopefully, will be a great kickoff for the 75th-anniversary celebrations. I know you’ll be participating in other events throughout D.C. and taking with you the conversations that we’ve had here.”

He also offered assistance during their stay in Washington: “If during your time in D.C., any issues arise or you need any assistance, please feel free to also contact my office. I know you each have your embassies to be in touch with, but if there are issues, please feel free to contact my office and we’d be glad to help you.”
