City of Germantown recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Germantown Police Department is now accepting applications for the full-time position of Police Officer, to establish an eligibility list for immediate & future placement 

(valid for up to 12 months from date of eligibility).

LATERAL ENTRY & CURRENT ACADEMY Cadets are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; hold a valid Driver’s License, be a High School Graduate (or G.E.D.); must not have a felony conviction of 

any type, nor any crime involving moral turpitude or Domestic Violence; and must comply with all requirements of the Immigration Reform & Control Act of 1986. Must be either 

actively enrolled in, or be a graduate of, an Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy.

Selection Process: In addition to a thorough background investigation, applicants must pass oral interviews, a written exam, psychological examination, medical examination, drug 

screening, & polygraph tests.

Salary and Benefits: The salary range is $23.44 to $28.77 hourly, plus an excellent benefits package including Medical, Dental, & Life Insurance, on-site Workout Facility, Merit 

Pay Increases, Vacation, Personal, Sick, Compensatory and other Leave, uniforms & equipment, tuition reimbursement, and an excellent retirement plan (OP&F).

Position Responsibilities: The candidate must have the ability to perform all of the duties of a police officer, which includes conducting criminal investigations and apprehending 

criminals; regulating traffic and enforcing traffic laws; conducting preventive patrol; responding to citizen calls and requests for services; and accurately completing paperwork and 

written reports. Work schedule may include extreme weather conditions, as well as varied & rotating shifts, including weekends/evenings/holidays.
