Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park issued the following announcement on Nov. 24.
Still finalizing that Thanksgiving menu? Maybe you need to jazz up your normal fare with some Wright-inspired dishes! While this isn’t a Thanksgiving menu per say, this is what Wilbur Wright and his older brother Lorin served their friends at a dinner party they hosted on November 1, 1890. Wilbur, Lorin, and their eldest brother Reuchlin were part of a club called the Ten Dayton Boys who met for a banquet each year to catch up. The banquet was hosted by a different member each year. Roast turkey and cranberry sauce were the main event as is common on Thanksgiving tables today. Is anyone serving oyster soup, tapioca pudding, or a tall glass of buttermilk this year? Has your family’s Thanksgiving menu changed over the years? Share with us in the comments!
