U.S. Representative Mike Turner, who has served Ohio’s 10th district in Congress since 2003, recently addressed concerns regarding presidential authority and Russia’s actions in Ukraine through a series of posts on his official social media account.
On November 5, 2025, Turner wrote: “When a presidency goes on autopilot you must look at what was done with the auto pen. The potential for abuse is real and should be examined. @Varneyco https://t.co/7btpQiSt3u”. The statement appeared to question the use of automated signing tools by presidents and called for scrutiny over their application.
Later that same day, Turner highlighted his role as a co-sponsor of new legislation targeting Russian state conduct. In his post he stated: “As a co-sponsor of @RepBrianFitz’s and @USRepKeating’s ‘Designating the Russian Federation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism Act’ I condemn Russia’s heinous actions, including the kidnapping and forced deportation of over 19,500 Ukrainian children. This bill will hold Russia https://t.co/Ge4dYuNIHG”.
The following day, November 6, Turner continued to focus on Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine. He posted: “Putin has not been dissuaded. He needs significant pressure put against him to end his murderous campaign against the Ukrainian people. @ErinBurnett @OutFrontCNN https://t.co/woHSPzfmri”.
Turner’s recent statements align with his legislative activities in Congress and reflect his stance on both executive oversight and foreign policy issues related to Russia and Ukraine.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mike Turner was born in 1960 and continues to reside there. He earned degrees from Ohio Northern University (BA), Case Western Reserve University (JD), and the University of Dayton (JD). He succeeded Tony P. Hall as representative for Ohio’s 10th district more than two decades ago.
