City of Dayton recently issued the following announcement.

Learn lifeguarding! The City of Dayton presents three courses leading to an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. The series must be completed within a three-day period 

beginning March 21, March 28 or April 11:

March 21, 22, 23, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

March 28, 29, 30, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

April 11, 12, 13, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classes are held at the Northwest Recreation Center (1600 Princeton Dr.) Interested candidates must be at least 15 years old and able to swim front crawl and breaststroke. The 

fee is $200 (fee waived if going to work as a lifeguard for the City of Dayton). Contact Zach Horstman with questions or to schedule a pre-skills swim test:
