Dayton Metro Library celebrates Older Americans Month in May with a weeklong series of special “Finances after Fifty” programs hosted at the West Branch Library.
These programs are designed to help patrons financially prepare for life after fifty.
Finances After Fifty: Budgeting
Thursday, May 5, 6 – 7:30 pm
Learn the value of creating a budget, strategies to building a simple budget, and paying off debt.
Finances After Fifty: Debt Management
Saturday, May 7, 10:30 am – 12 pm
Compare various debt management solutions and create a personal plan to manage their debt.
Finances After Fifty: Retirement
Thursday, May 12, 6 – 7:30 pm
Prepare for retirement readiness by creating a savings plan and learning about investment vehicles that may allow them to grow their wealth.
Finances After Fifty: Investing at Work
Thursday, May 19, 6 – 7:30 pm
Learn to apply best practices for investing in employer-sponsored accounts, as well the advantages and disadvantages of various investment options.
Finances After Fifty: Identity Theft
Saturday, May 21, 10:30 am – 12 pm
Participants will learn about methods identity thieves use to steal information and learn what information is at risk.
